There has been a lot of interest in the island nation of Cuba, which lies just south of the state of Florida. For over 100 years, there has existed a relationship between our two countries that has had both highs and lows. Today’s FamSite takes a look at a site that shows some of the culture and customs of this nation, and how it’s people live.

The site is called Scenes of Cuba, and is a photo-essay that was published by the Washington Post newspaper. Here you can view some very artistic and well-done photographs of everyday people doing everyday things. There are pictures of Pope John Paul II on his visit there, scenes of the Baltimore Orioles as they played baseball there, and pictures of the people of Cuba celebrating their religious beliefs. There is also a section called La Vida, which has scenes of everyday life in Havana, such as the architecture, bicycles, and the seawall.

Politics aside, the island of Cuba has a rich heritage and exquisite cultural traditions. Enjoy your stop here today.
